Yes, we’re in the South of France and the sun should always shine… but we do get the odd rainy day here too ! But there’s so much to do that a bit of rain doesn’t stop us enjoying ourselves in and around Béziers !
Running low on ideas ? Don’t worry, we’ve put together our top 7 rainy day activities for all the family. So get your umbrella out and don’t let it rain on your parade !
The cultural trip
Whether you’re with friends, family or flying solo, we have something for everyone and every age so there’s bound to be something to tickle your fancy !
Museums
Do you like spending your time learning new things in museums ? Then you’re going to love it here because we’ve got loads of them covering all kinds of subjects.
Step into the Fayet manor in Béziers to visit the Museum of Fine Arts. Château de Raissac and its stunning earthenware take you on a trip back in time.
Is contemporary art more your thing ? You’re in for a treat at the Sérignan Regional Contemporary Art Museum ! Feast your eyes on pieces by French and international artists at its large permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions.
Does engineering get your heart racing ? The amazing collections at the Chapy Museum in Boujan-sur-Libron will rev your engines !
Do you want a fun-filled cultural outing for the kids to enjoy ? Simples, there are two iconic spots for you to choose from.
The Toy Museum – Palais de la Maquette in Valras-Plage is ideal for children of all ages.
Heritage
La pluie vous donne l’occasion de Wet weather gives you a chance to visit and revisit Béziers Cathedral that towers over the town. Uncover its secrets and unravel its mysteries ! The forecourt has fabulous views of the entire town right up to the Mediterranean !

Have you had a look at what’s on at the weekend and out of the rain ? European Heritage Days, Foire de Béziers fair, flea markets, exhibitions, guided tours and more. You’re spoilt for choice ! Check out all the events on the agenda at Tourist Information or online.
Make the most of the rain to unwind with a good book, the latest blockbuster or a trip to the André Malraux media centre in Béziers or Samuel Beckett media centre in Sérignan.
The leisurely trip
If the rain hasn’t dampened your energy then dive into the Léo Lagrange aquatic centre in Béziers ! Head to the Muriel Hermine pool, to swim a few lengths in Servian. If you’re closer to the coast then you’ll get a warm welcome from the team at the Alfred Nakache pool for a well-earned dip.
There’s no excuse not to get your workout in !
The fun trip
What do you do when your kids want to let off steam but it’s raining outside ? How about taking them to soft play at Indoorland in Villeneuve-Lès-Béziers ? Whilst they have fun and make new friends exploring the soft play centre and treetop adventure trail, you can relax with a coffee at the snack area. It’s the perfect place for all the family and ideal for children aged 1-13 !
Bigger kids will love a round of laser quest with friends. Béziers has two places for teams to take each other on : Laser game Park and Laser game évolution.
Would you rather solve clues in a unique set-up to escape a locked room ? There’s a whole host of escape rooms with different themes for you to choose from. There’s something for everyone ! Disappearance at Hogwarts, criminal investigation, trip back in time, post-apocalypse survival, haunted house and horror… It’s a hard choice !

The cinema trip
Popcorn and a good film, what more could you want on a rainy afternoon? Have you seen what’s out this week? Catch a film at CGR in Villeneuve les Béziers, or head to Béziers and visit MonCiné or Polygone shopping centre.
The sports trip
Do you want to have fun ? Let’s go bowling with friends or family. You can choose between Xtreme Bowling in Villeneuve-lès-Béziers, Costa Verde in Sauvian or Bowling Warm up in the Polygone shopping centre in Béziers.
After the effort, the comfort ! Take the opportunity to have lunch in one of the many restaurants in the shopping centre !
The evening trip
Any weather is good for getting together with friends ! Whether it’s raining or windy, there’s always a good show to see. It’s a great opportunity to check out new groups and experience something different. Check out what’s on at Zinga Zanga in Béziers, la Cigalière and the theatre in Béziers.

The shopping trip
Are you a shopaholic? That’s lucky because there are lots of shops in the town centre and on the seafront! Grab your brolly and hit the cute little boutiques on the high streets. If you’d rather avoid the rain completely then you can go shopping, have lunch and grab a hot chocolate at the Polygone mall in Béziers with 110 shops… all indoors ! Other shopping centres include Cap Occitan (Auchan) and Leclerc Montimaran (formerly Géant). Shop ’til you drop !
