The 30 November 2024
Dedication and artist meeting
13 Place du Marché, 34290 SERVIAN
Don't miss this unique opportunity to meet Marin Ledun, author of the novel "Free Queens":
Serena Monnier, a young French journalist, meets Jasmine Dooyum, a teenage prostitute of Nigerian origin, who has taken refuge before her eyes in a charity bus to escape her pimps. Based on her testimony, Serena tracks down the network and travels to Nigeria to meet the founders of Free Queens, an association that fights on a daily basis in the field.
At the same time, Oni Goje, a sergeant in the highway patrol and a former member of the Criminal Investigation Department, which he left to protect his sanity and that of his family from the appalling violence of Nigeria, makes a macabre discovery at a rest stop near Kaduna, in the north of the country: the bodies of two murdered young women, abandoned in the middle of a heap of garbage. That?s all it takes for this upright cop, husband and father, to get back in the saddle, with the firm conviction of bringing justice to these two unfortunate victims of a society that is gangrenous from top to bottom?
Come and chat with Marin Ledun and immerse yourself in her captivating world.
