Discover director Thierry Gentet's film "Sur la route des baleines" during the screening. The film will be followed by a discussion with the director.
"On the island of Ré, little Tao and her grandfather Ferruccio are dreaming of humpback whales, as Tao's class and Célia's class from Saint-Denis de la Réunion are taking part in an exercise in the Argonautica educational program set up by CNES in Toulouse. They will be able to follow the journey of the Nora whale, which each year leaves the cold waters of the Pole for the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. They discover the dangers that threaten these marine mammals during their journey: hunting, strandings, collisions, chemical and noise pollution, and global warming, which can lead to a scarcity of fish resources. Setting off from Antarctica on her long winter migration, will Nora reach the coasts of Réunion and Saint-Marie de Madagascar?
