Les Ecluses de l'Art presents a film by director and screenwriter Chantal Lasbats. Shot in the COUBERTIN foundry, for the Musée BOURDELLE, this twenty-minute educational film captures the various stages involved in turning a work of plaster or clay into a bronze. Broadcast in 10 major French museums.
Chantal Lasbats is the director and author of numerous 52? films on society and art for French TV channels ("Les années Palaces", "Sous le soleil vert", "Paradoxal New-York" among others), as well as French-American documentaries (most recently "Dans les entrailles de New York", France 5 ? Sundance Channel; "Detroit The Dream Forgotten Rebuilds" and "The Devil of Niagara").
She has won several awards for her work, both in France and abroad. Named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres by Jean-Jacques Aillagon in 2002, she regularly collaborates with international visual artists such as Bertrand Lavier, Nan Goldin and Andres Serrano.
Her films have been shown at the Palais Fortuny in Venice, the Fondation Ivon Lambert in Avignon, the CRAC in Sète and the Musée Bourdelle in Paris.
