The 10 October 2024

Local animation, Exhibition

9 Rue Paul Riquet, 34500 BEZIERS

As part of the "Hors Cadre" photography festival, Le Korrigan is exhibiting works by artists Emile Lecomte (Argentiques photographs) and Serge Bonnet (Contestations).

Emile Lecomte :
A young photographer and video artist, Emile Lecomte is constantly searching for souls and stories in his work, which is heavily influenced by sociology. His portraits of the people around him give pride of place to a certain poetry emanating from "the little things of everyday life". His work is based on meeting other people, and his aim is to highlight individuals who stand out from the crowd, who have their own universe. The aim is to create a strong emotional impact in his shots, thanks to the social relationship between the subject and the photographer. For Émile, photography has no meaning without the emotion it evokes.

Serge Bonnet :
Serge Bonnet is a reporter. Based in Pézenas, he works mainly on the environment, nature, social groups, ethnology and culture (Les éditions Milan Presse, Le Monde, Le Monde Diplomatique, Géo...). For over 15 years, his photographic work has witnessed various social protest movements, such as the Tunisian revolution and the "indignados" of 15 M in Madrid in 2011 (protesting austerity policies), opponents of water and public health privatization, as well as the yellow vest movement in France. Her focus has gradually broadened to include constituent and law-writing workshops, cooperative groupings and, more generally, sometimes experimental initiatives for citizen-based political and social action.
