The origins of "Ivresse et reflet" go back to a painting I did in my twenties, an oil on canvas with no painting technique or knowledge. Two mirrored glances and the intoxication of an imagined body. The years have passed, the intoxication remains, but it has evolved. As for the reflection, it represents a complex technical challenge, at least for me. Drunkenness is imagination transformed into poetry. It's also to be found in the drawing, in the line, the values and the light. Reflection is the unconscious expressing itself, a blurred echo, sometimes misinterpreted, revealing surprises on the canvas. By combining these two notions, I wanted to take a tender look at the young, inexperienced artist I was, and bring out the one I have become, nourished by experience.
