We invite you to discover a "vigneron d'altitude", Guillaume Boussens, and his Dernacueillette estate. A former boxer, he chose to take over the highest estate in the appellation (altitude: 360 to 690 meters) in this unspoilt green setting nestled in the heart of the Hautes Corbières
Today, 14 hectares of vines flourish in the shelter of Mont Tauch, one of the highest mountains in the Corbières. This protects the plots from maritime influences and creates a unique microclimate, known as climatic shade, which gives the wines exceptional freshness. This forgotten terroir rests on crystalline schists of varying hues: red (ferruginous), pink (magnesian), black (tungsten) and blue.
Yields are naturally low (15 to 20 hectoliters/hectare), and maintaining the plots requires intense physical labor due to the rugged terrain. Here, Carignan, Syrah and Grenache, the real "musketeers" of the estate, fully express their character.
Guillaume is 130 kilos of teasing smile, tender heart and joviality, but he's also a colossus and a hard worker. His wines, imbued with precision and rigor, reflect his boundless energy and passion.
