Mandatory reservation Impressive seismic activity in the Corbières and Minervois.
The uplift of the Pyrenees as a result of the collision of the Iberian plate with the Eurasian plate triggered major
earthquakes. The induced seismic waves caused spectacular and often aesthetic deformations in the marine sedimentary layers of the Corbières from the beginning of the Eocene, around 55 million years ago, and subsequently in the lacustrine and fluvial layers of the Minervois up to around 48 million years ago.
