1209 LA CHANSON DE LA CROISADE – PAR LA LYRE BITERROISE

In Béziers in 1209, ordered by Pope Innocent III to reconquer the Cathar country, the Crusade sacked the city of Viscount Trencavel and massacred a people resigned to never surrendering their own.

Bringing together 120 musicians and choristers from La Lyre Biterroise and the Conservatoire Béziers Méditerranée, this new show transports you back to the 13th century in an edifying medieval adventure. Performed by actors Céline Garcia and Olivier Cabassut, this musical fresco composed by Gilles Arcens retraces the tragic episode of the "Albigensian Crusade", based on stories translated from the Langue d'Oc by Yves Rouquette.
Under the artistic direction of Victor Madrènes for "La Lyre Biterroise" and Mathieu Bonnin for the "Ch?ur du Conservatoire Béziers Méditerranée".
