In the 1870s, after his employer went bankrupt, Phineas Taylor Barnum embarked on the risky business of buying a museum of curiosities. It wasn't a success, but he came up with the idea of staging an exceptional show with atypical talents! To bring his new project to fruition, he recruits men and women who have been living in the shadows until now, to form a circus of the bizarre.
