FESTIVAL “HORS CADRE” – ESPACE LALLY

As part of the "Hors Cadre" photography festival, Espace Lally is exhibiting works by artists Louis Bacou (Modèle Idéal) and Fatima Mazmouz (Des monts et des mères veillent).

Louis Bacou:
Of all cheap manufactured goods, the ordinary tool is the most appealing to the senses. That's why, for the person who is sensitive to good shapes, clear and without "design" a hardware store is a kind of parallel museum exhibition." So said Walker Evans in 1955, when he published "Beauties of The Common Tools" for Fortune magazine. All these shapes evoke silhouettes, and one can only get lost in them, thinking of those who held them in their hands.

Fatima Mazmouz:
After exploring the magical body of pregnancy and the uterus, Fatima Mazmouz turns to the question of transmission in the vernacular feminine milieu, listing several forms of ritual. The world of magic and witchcraft in Morocco immediately resonates with my previous research as a weapon of resistance.
