Do you want to come on holiday to the seaside but don’t know where to go for a swim? I’ve got the solution for you! Béziers Méditerranée has plenty of beaches that are easily accessible and enjoyable for everyone. From Valras-Plage to Sérignan-Plage, let me introduce you to them!
Valras-Plage
the central beach
Valras-Plage is THE seaside resort of Béziers Méditerranée! In fact, its magnificent beach never ceases to attract visitors. But why, you may ask? Well, I’ll explain it all to you!
A safe beach
Valras-Plage beach offers safe bathing for all, with 4 lifeguard posts staffed by lifeguards, fire fighters and an emergency doctor, all summer long. This exceptional surveillance system has earned the resort the Pavillon Bleu (Blue Flag) label for the 25th year running.
A clean beach
The Valras beach is maintained all year round. The town puts so much emphasis on keeping the beach clean, because it really cares about the well-being of its bathers. On summer mornings, the municipal services remove all possible rubbish using a sieve shaker, making the beach even more pleasant.
Perfect for families
In summer, there’s no shortage of activities on the beaches: sand castles, drawing, beach volleyball, etc. But Valras-Plage has pulled out all the stops for families! Next to the arch near the central beach, on the boulevard Jean Moulin, swings and a wooden boat have been specially installed to keep children occupied.

When we tell you that the town really does think of everything, we’re not joking! Recognition totems have been installed all along the beach to help children find their way around if they get lost.
Close to services
Whether you come on foot, by car or by bus, Valras and its beach are easily accessible. If you’re coming by car, there are plenty of parking spaces available along the Boulevard Jean Moulin, as well as car parks (both free or not) towards the town centre.
The nearest car park to the central beach and lifeguard station is the Magrou car park (Boulevard Michelet).
Its location also provides easy access to the various shops along the coast. Ice-cream parlours, restaurants, souvenir shops… most of them can be found along the allée Charles de Gaulle and in the adjacent streets.
Coming by bus? Don’t worry, Valras-Plage is linked to all the major towns in the Béziers Méditerranée conurbation by the “Beemob” bus service. Take the E line from the “De Gaulle” stop in Béziers and get to Avenue Cauquil in Valras in around 30 minutes. This line also serves various stops in Sérignan.
The brand-new S line, also known as “La Solaire“, departs from platform 6 at Béziers bus station every 30 minutes. The last bus leaves Valras at 10.55pm on weekends, so you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the journey! What’s more, it also serves the towns of Villeneuve-lès-Béziers and Sérignan – great, eh?
And as they say, “never two without three”, Line 3 to Valras-Plage (now called Line L for “La Littorale“) will take you from the Port Conchylicole (Vendres). From 6 July, it will serve various stops throughout Valras-Plage and a few in Sérignan before arriving at its terminus: Sérignan-Plage.

accessible for people with reduced mobility
In recent years, Valras-Plage has focused on accessibility for people with disabilities. The beach has been equipped with access mats and duckboards to facilitate access to the beach and water. A lifeline has also been installed, along with a metal ramp, to ensure that everyone feels at ease.
But that’s not the only equipment the town is making available! Valras-Plage provides 5 tiralos (3 at the central lifeguard station and 2 at the Lighthouse and Casino lifeguard stations) as well as lifejackets.

sérignan
The nature reserve and the naturist beach
Since 2020, the Orpellières nature reserve and its magnificent beaches have been a constant magnet for hundreds of visitors. Easily accessible thanks to its car park close to the “Le Sérignan-Plage” campsite, it’s always very relaxing to come here for a swim or simply a picnic. Unspoilt beaches, lagoons and dunes await you to offer you a breathtaking spectacle in an environment that’s as peaceful as it is magnificent!
The naturist beach is separated by a sign to demarcate the areas. There is also a first-aid post.
Not far from these beaches is the Maison de site des Orpellières, a calm and relaxing place perfect for families, offering a play area, various workshops and visits (during the school holidays) and events during the summer.

The Séoune and Chapelle beaches
Close to the “Beauséjour” and “L’Aloha” campsites and accessible at the end of the Allée des Dunes, they offer pleasant views and access to the Mediterranean Sea. Like their neighbours, they also have a car park and a lifeguard station.
You can also get there from the town centre via the Greenway, another gentle way to make the most of this magnificent place, don’t you think?

On the beach at La Chapelle, you can visit a small chapel called “Notre-Dame des Anges” free of charge and discover its history.
Grande Maïre beach
Located at the end of the avenue bearing its name, the Grande Maïre beach is one of the largest in Sérignan after the Orpellières beach. It also has a car park and a lifeguard post to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Grande Maïre is a former “arm” of the Orb. It is now considered to be a lagoon, where freshwater and saltwater mix. Listed as a Natura 2000 site, it’s a great place to swim in summer.
