Getting to Béziers Méditerranée
Béziers Méditerranée is very easy to get to from Béziers Cap d’Adge airport or Béziers TGV station, and services have been set up to help anyone with a disability. Areas have been fitted out with equipment such as : guide strips, magnetic loops and free personal assistance services.
Once you’ve arrived in Béziers, the Béziers Méditerranée “Beemob” buses are also available to take you to Valras-Plage. Line E runs between Béziers and Valras-Plage.
the beginnings
Since 2020, the town has been offering a free service to help people with reduced mobility get into the water using tiralos. It’s a service that’s as practical as it is useful.
What is a tiralo?
A tiralo is a wheelchair with a bar at the front that allows people with reduced mobility to access the water without a wheelchair or walking stick.
This year, Pierre is taking over this temporary position.
FIND Pierre from the beginning of July to the end of August
Monday to Friday from 10.10am to 12pm and from 2.30pm to 5pm and on Sundays from 11.10am to 12.30pm and from 3pm to 6.15pm at the lifeguard station on the beach.

Parking
The commune of Valras-Plage has been redeveloped to increase the number of reserved parking spaces (free or paying).
Our advice
For parking, choose the Magrou car park. It’s the closest to the beach and the lifeguard station.
Beach access facilities
Since the town began offering this free service to help people get into the water from July to August, a number of facilities have been installed to make access to the beach and the water easier: access mats, duckboards….
A lifeline and a metal railing complete the list of swimming aids at Valras-Plage. Everything has been done to make you feel safe and comfortable.
The latest addition is a visible, fully-dressed algebraic hut a stone’s throw from the lifeguard station, where disabled people can change in complete privacy. Life jackets are also available. Valras-Plage has 5 tiralos: 3 are positioned at the central lifeguard station and the other 2 are at the Lighthouse and Casino lifeguard stations.
News not to be missed
Anyone wishing to use a tiralo (with or without Pierre’s help) must be accompanied.
It is also possible to leave the wheelchairs at the first-aid post while swimming.
Services offered by the city
Who hasn’t had an urge to wash up during a day at the beach? There are 9 public toilets throughout the commune, 4 of which are close to the sea. That’s pretty handy, isn’t it?

Of the 4 book boxes in the commune, 2 are accessible to people of reduced stature or in wheelchairs.
The commitment of an entire conurbation
TheValras-plage town hall and post office are also equipped to welcome people with disabilities. As for us, we’ll be delighted to welcome you to our tourist information offices, which have been awarded the Tourism and Disability label.
